something i wrote for my dog kyla who is 13 years young
God gave me a puppy dog
to stay with me a while
she had the cutiest puppy nose
she always made me smile
she chewed my shoes and handbags
she piddled on my floor
she loved to rifle through the bin
but still i loved her more
we soon became the best of pals
my puppy dog and me
and anywhere that i would go
my puppy dog would be
she grew so fast,my puppy dog
her floppy ears stood straight
and when she stood on her back legs
her head could clear the gate
the years rolled by so very fast
whilst we were having fun
we spent our days just hanging out
we d walk and play and run
my puppy dog gave all her love
and i gave her the same
when i needed my puppy dog
i just called out her name
today, whilst sitting in my chair
i glanced down to the floor
and there, curled up around my feet
was my puppy dog once more
She looks at me through misty eyes
her muzzle has turned grey
she does not always hear me call
she sometimes cannot play
but in that glance i see it
that familiar look of love
a gift for me,that truly is
sent from god above
though the years have made her weary
she is loyal to the core
and my heart it bursts with pride to see
my puppy dog once more

I'm travelling to work at the moment on the train and just had to put my sunglasses on as it made me cry. Reminded me so much of arch

I think that poem is so perfect, it reflects what most of us on this site feel.
you have a magic way with words. A poem to be proud of because it comes from your heart and we could all feel your emotion. Well done you.
