Think I need to wash Sami's bits!!!
Well Sami stinks!!!!
I am sorry there is no other way to put it.
As some of you know Sami has become a little incontinent with her aging bladder. She was peeing in the dining room which is the only room in the house with carpet but she seemed to have stopped doing this and was getting me up in the night to take her out. I dont mind the pee or the getting up its just part of having an elderly princess.
Anyway I kept smelling this overwhelming pee smell which seemed to be everywhere. On this mornings walk I noticed some brown staining on Sami's previously lovely white fur between her legs. On closer investigation ....whewww the smell nearly knocked me out!!!! She is obviously dribbling when she pees and she is very furry down there so thats where the pee smell that seemed everywhere was coming from....Sami following me around.
So it looks like Sami is having a bit of a wash and brush up today.

Awww God love her, could you give her a little trim, not short though as she will need her fur to protect her skin from wee burns.
You do such a good job with her, and you can tell you truly love your princess.

Poor girl! Maybe get some dog cleansing wipes, or moist toilet tissue to keep her cleaner in between washing?

I have thought about giving her a mini brazilian think I will have to give her a wash every day, its not bothering her and at least as you say it is stopping her from being sore but she is a little pungent.

The thing with giving her a trim, is that it is likely to grow back thicker each time, is there nowhere on your walk that she could take a swim or deep paddle

She could Stuart but then her fur is so thick it takes all day to dry and I am not keen on her getting too cold.

The cold of course is a problem with winter coming on, in that case, I think if I was in your shoes I would try baby wipes, they clean, disinfect, are a handy item, without wetting her too much, and they smell good

Think thats probably the way I will go Stuart. I will give her a good scrub down and then wipe her every time she goes out for a pee which is going to be a bit time consuming as she goes about 20 times a day at the moment the little angel.

Hi Tracy I was washing little Bair's bits everyday as she had the same thing , but her little knickers got very matted with constantly being wet ! Someone on here recommended hold it by a company called csj ?? It's a herbal thing which wasn't a lot of money and dried her up completely , I'd tried other things with little success but ' hold it ' herbs really did work Lx

Aww bless her heart Tracy, I'm sure she'll be glad to be sweet smelling again.
