Alot of people as far as i can see say to boost or not. And from looking at the pick of that little girl we should give our dogs reg boosters.

Just wanted to point out that this is
not something that is covered by vaccination (or boosters). Toxocariasis is actually caused by the larvae of a roundworm. This is one of the replies left at the bottom of the page:
"I'm a small animal vet and the article is slightly misleading in that toxocariasis isn't technically an infection although it can cause one - it's caused by larvae of a roundworm in dogs called toxocara, and the larvae can migrate in the eye of children causing blindness, and can cause other problems such as asthma.
Dog owners need to be more responsible in picking up faeces and ensuring that adult dogs are wormed every 3 months."
To be totally honest it does not really matter whether you pick up or not. It only takes a very, very small trace of poo to contain the larvae (most soil in this country is infected any way) and we all know it is virtually impossible to pick up every tiny bit of poo.
The best solution is not to exercise dogs in areas where children play, but also make sure children always wash their hands before touching their face/mouth.
