I was actually talking to a guy that work's at our local shelter this morning, and he told me that the majority of the dogs they get in are staffies,it's sad that idiots have to get a dog as a status symbol.I remember years ago it was rotties there should be laws that stop lazy layabouts having dogs.
That's my rant for the day lol.
Quite honestly I think this is a country wide problem. Even down here in rural Devon our rescue centres are 75% staffy or staffy cross.
I am bracing myself for the inevitable influx of Malamutes that seem to be the fashionable dog for the low lifes down here at the moment.
It is just terrible that these wonderful dogs are so easy to come by and so easy to get rid of once the novelty has worn off.

Funny you should mention the Mals, every other puppy you see here now is a Husky or Malamute, so I think you're right, the shelters will be full of these next If people can't manage a stafford, they've no hope with a Husky/Mal
You're also right, the majority of dogs in shelters etc are by far staffords/crosses. It's so very sad

A few moths ago my nephew was looking for a dog, we went round quite a few dog homes and found that in each one the majority of dogs they held were staffs!! Id say 90% of the dogs were staffys
It was blooming horrible, I hate those places I want to take them all home!
