I'm in that bracket as well! But my boss is really great & as long as my work gets done, he doesn't care!

I am also in the 81%,.. I would get my relief to stand in for the day,..or swap my day off,.. but if for any reason that couldnt happen,.. I am dead sure that my boss would allow me to take any of my dogs with me

In fact when Troy was poorly Robin took a whole week off so I could visit Stuart in Scotland x

I don't have a job to take a sicky from!

But when Ellie was booked in for her operation Les did book the week off work, so he was around to help if necessary...

But if an emergency arise that required 2 people to look after any one of the dogs, yes he would either book hols, swap shifts or take sick leave..

And yes if asked, my dogs are as much part of my family as my chidren, and I care and worry about them in very similar ways as I do with my children!

I would have to throw a sickie. My boss will shuffle shifts or give me an emergency parental leave day off but not for the dogs.
