I cant wait to watch this one , ,why do the dog breeders keep trying to breed the perfect dog, look what was done to the british bulldog over the years for example , its got to the point gsds dont even look like gsds anymore compared to a few years ago the difference is beyond a joke is it to better the breed I think not.
I can understand why they are trying to breed out faults eg HD etc.but it has gone to the extreme and it is causeing so many problems for the dogs and the people who pay good prices for them not to mention the vet bills and heartache that comes with it. I think these breeders forget what dogs were used for over the years , yorkishre terriers were ratting dogs ,dalmations were carraige dogs etc most dogs were judged on there abilty to work ,not all this cosmectic make up that is in todays dogs . colleen/gypsy

Well, that has answered many of my questions, what good timing. There were some heartbreaking scenes but I ws impressed with Jemimas perisitance, what a fabulous brave woman. The lady campaiging for cavaliers was also an inspiration, I dread to think how much abuse she has had.
Lets hope this generates enough interest amongst pet owners for them to realise that they make their voices heard. Oh, and I had enquired about Jeff Sampsons genetics course at the AHT, don't think I'll bother with that now (although I would have loved the opportunity to give hima grilling!!)

I am absolutly speechless, I will never watch crufts again,And imo the kennel club needs a reorganization, and them two prats that were shown tonight should be sacked, the kennel club imo could,nt give a damn about suffering dogs whatever the breed!!!!!!!!!! absolutly shocked that this is allowed to happen

Thought you would have realised by now Tazman that the UK KC dont give a dam about the health of dogs if they did they would come inline with other countries KC's and make a stance that all health tests of sire and dam are made compulsory before a litter can be registered. They put money over health, they would loose litter registration fees, puppy transfer fees etc.
When the Chodsky's come over they will be registered in Prague with the breed registry and only put on the KC's activity reg so they can compete work wise. I wont let them ruin this breed like they have so many others.

The KC appear to have buried their heads in the sand for years therwise these impending problems would have been nipped in the bud I was horrified to learn that the ridgebacks actual ridge is connected to spina bifida
