What a heartbreaking story, my heart goes out to that poor boys family.

That is so sad and my heart go,s out to them, but what was a 10 year old boy doing walking a GSD. My Amy is 12 and i would never even think about her walking Ty or Koda, i just hope they don't blame the dog.

Ty's mum I thought the very same thing....I really don't believe kids should be out with dogs on their own. They could have the most well behaved dog in the world but all it takes is someone else's to pick a fight and all hell would break loose and the kid wouldn't be able to pull his dog off.

I saw this first hand at my local park, 2 young girls were walking a rough collie, the collie went over to a pack of 4 dogs and got into a fight with one, the girls were screaming and could do nothing....we had to go over and help the other owner separate the dogs, not something I wanted to do but I couldn't walk away you know.

I'm with you my Son is 12 and I would never let him walk Sheebs on his own.

We all know that when a dog as strong as a GSD decides they want to do something/go somewhere the amount of power and strength they have is awesome. Sometimes just in a play bounce and pull she has made me trip.
