diet question

hiya folks (back two mins and already posting questions lol..)

just a diet question, rocky is 24.5 inchs to shoulder, and weighs 32kg he's glossy coated, alert always diving around and dosent seem to be hungry or tierd but he just seems underweight to me, i can feel his ribs and he seems to tuck in a lot on his back end. He has been wormed and the vet says he is fine.

What do you think? i was thinking of maybe switching to a higher protein food content or suplimenting his diet but wouldnt know what to use. a Friend suggested tripe but i cant really find any information.

any ideas? Thanks

I dont know Mike, Dalton is fed on Burns, i changed him from James Wellbeloved, now he eats his meals properly. He seems happy on it.
Maybe try weaning him onto a different food, not sure really what you should do

Omg Mike he's a year and 6 months?! Wow that's gone quick - you HAVE to put some pics up, I bet he's a right stunner now.

I've never heard of that food tbh....Diesel's fed Arden Grange and loves it. Although what I would say is that Diesel was slim until he was about 2.5yr, I could feel his ribs but not see them and that's how it should be. Rocky is still growing and maturing so if your vet is happy then I really wouldn't worry and certainly don't let him pack the weight on, he'll do it naturally.

ok i'll see how he goes then the vet did say he will fill as he ages, he's always been pretty slim come to think of it.

I'll try and get some pics of him when hes distracted, has taken a disliking to the camera shutter noise so whenever i get the cam out now he legs it lol silly dog

Hi just picked your Q on your pup do not worry they are growing so fast at this stage>>
had 6 GSD's and Buddie is number six nearly 5 months and is nearly 30kg looks lean but doing good>> they bulk out when the growing slows down> do not over exercise at this stage always tempted they have so much energey>>
Tripe yes I do and have done so in the past>remember it is food and have to balance how much to give> stinks a bit but so what give it a go and see >> Davey and Buddie
