help...! Bitting puppy!

Hi

Maverick is 3 and a half months old and although i'm sure it's normal for him to get quite nippy at times i'm a bit worried about his behaviour when out on his lead. He insists on grabbing the lead and chewing it whilst walking but when me or my husband try to stop him, he becomes very aggressive (growling and bitting). It's nothing like his nippy behaviour indoors as he gets quite nasty. Other than that he's a lovely boy and normal puppy!

Any help or advice will be appriciated as it's driving us mad!!!!

Aw bless ya, GSD pups can be very nippy im afraid, just goes with the territory, as for the lead Issues, Dalton used to be like this, and would bite you if you took the lead out of his mouth, have you tried using a chain lead for a while, they dont tend to like chain links in there mouth, or rub something smelly but not poisonous on the lead you normally use chick

Beki is a jewel in the rough
he is faaaaaaaaaaar to young to be a "vicious dog in the making" hes just playing tugga with his lead, We had similar problems with Ellie and a few months of a chain lead and she is back to normal! (if thats possible for Ellie lol) she has an attempt now n then but a quick no and shes back to the smells of a walk! i found it was mainly excitement!

We had this problem with Kira at that age and I changed her lead to a chain one like Sarah and Beki said, which helped a lot.
