Fruit juice

Iv noticed recently that Zico loves fruit juice, whenever i have some he is relentless in trying to steal it - anyone know why this is or do any of your dogs do this?

also, would it be bad for him if i gave him some occassionally?

i think zac must be in on it too, he distracts me with his toys, i turn round and zico has his tongue in my glass of juice!!!

I think most dogs like the sweet taste of fruit juice, is it good for them is debatable.

Naturaly dogs would not take friut and veg, and cant really digest them properly anyway, but many people do add these to the diet in a liquid form, .

I dont think a small amount would hurt, but I would only suggest you allow a very small amount as it is likely to give them the runs

Personaly I wouldnt allow my dogs any

It will be high in fructose which may upset tums; I'd be concerned about the acid effect on the teeth too.

Dogs, similar to people, like things that aren't particularly good for them.

Caryll is a jewel in the rough
Dempsey goes crazy when any of us has fruit juice. We don't let him have any (other than him stealing it when a glass has been left within his devious reach!) as it can upset his stomach & can be quite high in acidity. Also, it doesn't actually do them any good!

bad habit!!
if you let him "steal" from your glass... before long, he'll be helping himself to everything (if he doesnt already!)
make him wait, then pass the glass when you've finished

we learnt this the hard way with Sheba, she had such issues with food that she thought she had to sneak everything... now she sits and waits, as she gets a taste of pretty much most things we have - or st least, she thinks she does!
