So much for raw feeding!

I have been reading everything I can get hold of on raw feeding.
I have pestered poor Anni for advice and scoured the local ads for a cheap freezer to keep my supplies in (a Mafia Freezer).
I have done some research at my work (a zoo) and talked to the nutritionalist and the stores to see if I can get a supply of meaty bones from there.
I have also begun to suss out local butchers and a local organic farm who butcher their own meat.
So I am really organised and ready to go.
I went to morrisons and bought some chicken wings tonight and gave one to Ted.
You would think I had given him poison, he won't touch it!
Poor old chicken wing is still sitting on the kitchen floor 3 hours later.
Anyone heard of this before?
I will persist as I understand he might need to work out what to do with it but I have to confess I am a bit disappointed so far.

lol, poor ted doesnt know what to do with it,.. Sam was a bit like that with venison when I first started, what I did was cut some up and mixed it with his `old` food, then left the rest of the piece in the dish,... he eat around the larger piece, including the venison I cut up,.. then set about the lump of meat,... never looked back since

Once he gets the taste of it, I am sure Ted will be the same,.. I have yet to find a dog that doesnt like chicken

It is certainly not for everyone or every dog,.. but worth it in my opinion if you can get the dog interested

Ozzie is a bit like that! Because I don't have a decent supermarket or butcher near me I have to rely on the minced meat from suppliers for the majority of his food, so
You give him a lump of meat, he looks at you as if to say what do you expect me to do with THAT!!!!! I think he is so used to having it minced he has gone lazy and won't chew it! He will sit and chew on a knuckle joint, but won't chew a lamb rib!

I'm afraid Ted is a bit of a woopsie about food generally, he loves it but if he hasn't seen it before he doesn't trust it.
I allowed him to pick up a small piece of bread yesterday that fell on the floor. He mouthed it, spat it out and chased it around the floor for about 10 mins. before eating it. He is very suspicious of anything apart from his normal food. He will kill for cooked chicken so perhaps he will get used to it if I keep trying.

Just introduce it slowly, the odd bit here & there & make out it's a really good treat! If a dog hasn't had raw before, or if he's only had raw mince, then it can come as a bit of a shock that it's actually food!

As Stuart says, not every dog will settle with it, but it's worth pursuing if poss.

Dempsey settled with it immediately, but Pneuma took a few weeks to realise that the funny smelling thing I kept offering to her was good to eat!

Mine get a bit of raw mince or whatever I'm cooking but they see it as a treat

I've never fed these two raw, don't think I could stand the smelly breath

I've got their diet sorted + we're all happy with it
