Meat off the bone on average 2lb a day for adult males more if working up to 4lbs, on the bone I fed by eye, I fed mine twice a day and would add herbs I also fed them some biscuit or Laughing Dog biscuit cakes at a seperate meal

I feed my male GSD on average 1.5 kg of raw a day in 2 meals, and my female pup of 11 months just under 1 kg of same raw food. They get 3 hrs exercise a day. They're lean and muscular on this amount, but I vary intake according to how much they're worked.
As for food, a typical meal might be 14 chicken wing tips or/ 3-4 carcasses + 0.5 kg of offal mix for the male. Less chickie wings or/ carcass for female. Another meal might be green tripe + meaty lambs neck with vertebrae for each dog; depending on size of tripe - sometimes half a tripe's enough if it's sheep, or I cut up beef ones to size.
I supplement with salmon oil with the morning feed. I feed raw eggs once or twice a week. Treats - livercake (made with liver, eggs, garlic, flour) or puffed jerky or dried meat.
Pam, out of interest what herbs do you recommend for a raw diet?

Like I said to another raw feeder, have a look at the Krisannrio's site, full of good info especially the dairy of Pasha, I found it good advice when I swapped. Raw is the way to go

Seaweed/kelp powder
If older dog or one with joint problems I would make nettle tea and add some to each meal
Thyme
Peppermint
Dandilion root
Other times I would order a special mix from a company up Rossendale

Cheers Pam. I've heard Keepers Mix is good... it has Kelp Seaweed, Celery seeds, Lucerne (Alfalfa), Nettles, Rosemary, Psyllium Husks, Clivers and Wild Yam in it.

If you casseroled the meaty lamb neck with all those herbs it could be quite tasty

I'm considering Barf too - I have ordered ‘The Barf Diet’ (ISBN 0 958 592 1 9) by Dr Ian Billinghurst, off Amazon as everywhere I look on the net and the people I talk to about it recommend it and refer to it as the 'barfer's bible'.
