I don't feed raw with kibble as it gives mine upset tummies. I think it's to do with the digestion rate of kibble being much slower than raw.

I do feed raw or tinned with kibble in about those proportions. Have never had problem with tummy upsets.

I have had trouble understanding this for years, and have tried to do as much research as possible,...and everything told me not to give raw and kibble together,..I then spent a long time looking into giving Raw and Kibble not together, but in the same day,...and found it hard to find any information, so up untill recently I fed a complete raw diet
Then I went on the Dog Sled course in Aviemore, where you learnt from the bottom with feeding and watering
Guess what, although they do not mix Raw and Kibble, they do feed both in the same day,... Kibble in the morning and Raw in the late evening,.. the thing is that one lot has to have time to digest before giving the other.
So after I came back I tried it, although I turned it around, I gave Raw in the morning, about 7.30am - 8am - ish, and Kibble in the afternoon, around 4.30pm,..because Kibble take twice as long to digest,...and so far have had good results,..[ as well as a cheaper food bill ]
I talked about feeding with the dogs owners a lot, they have over 40 dogs, for instance, they do not just give water, but water that has been sitting over night with a small amount of dried food mixed in with it,..it almost guarenttee`s that they drink their water everytime its offered

TBH Stuart, that's how I used to feed mine before completely switching to raw. But now it just causes loose stools with both my dogs Maybe they're so suited to raw, that kibble's alien for them now? I guess I'm lucky having a good, quality, cheap supplier for the raw stuff

Well Anni,.. I was half expecting loose stools, but was suprised not to get them,..I am also lucky enough to be able to get good quality raw, in whole stags and Salmon, at a reasonable price, but still cheaper now.
The `experiment` is still ongoing I thought I would give it three months and see how it went, but it has only been weeks since I started trying it,..with simply no problems at all

I mix raw and kibble with zero issues. Have done 50/50 mix during the imprinting and foundation training phase (feeding from hand). Have done all sorts of combination, raw for a few days, kibble for a few, raw and kibble the same day, raw only for a few months. No problems whatsoever, dog is very healthy and works hard very regularly rain or shine.

Most likely it is the ingredients in the kibble. I use raw as well as a high quality kibble and dog likes both (he will eat anything).

Dempsey won't eat kibble at all, so there's no point me trying to mix them! I've been told that some dogs will get upset stomachs from the different digestion rates, others won't. I think it really depends on the individual dog.

Nash, I've tried mid-range and high quality kibble (Orijen) and it makes no difference. Zee the pup will eat anything I put in her bowl, but we pay for it later.

Remus has always been a stress-boy around food anyway, you'd think I'm trying to poison him the way he looks at it He eats slowly too. He'll eat a bit of kibble if there's sardines mixed in. He just prefers raw.
