Which Dry Food For A 15 Week Pup
Hi All,
looking for some advice please. Zak is currently on ORIJEN Puppy Large Dog Food but his stools are really loose most of the time lately so I think it's best he moved onto something else. It's a shame really because he really likes it. Another reason is he gets well hyper straight after dinner.
I was thinking of trying the ORIJEN Fish variety but as he is just a pup would this give him everything he needs at such a young age?
Can anyone suggest some good puppy foods I could look into?
the main reason for the post is when I do move him over do I do it instantly as he has loose stools now? or do I still move him over gradually?
Thanks in advance

Sorry I have no idea about other dry foods, but Bailey has Mera junior 2 mixed with butchers tinned tripe.
The only place I've found Mera available is from Zooplus, hope this helps.

I had Harley on Fish4Dogs puppy food when he was tiny and he did really well on that
If I were you, I would introduce your new food over about 8 days. Two days replace quarter of meal with new kibble, two then half, then two three quarters, then follow on full.

It's just trial + error, mine have been on Eukanuba breed specific for ages now but Tilly has developed an allergy so we're now on Science Plan.
You will find one that suits, but you may have to try a few. Buy the best you can to suit your budget.
Good luck

Diva's on Purina ProPlan Large breed athletic and she's doing well on it, producing nicely shaped & firm stools. We add the occasional tuna or chicken to her food but in small doses. Her poo is sometimes loose if she eats some rubbish she picks up from the ground (she seems to be into worms at the mo ) or if we give her some new treat that doesnt agree with her but it doesnt happen very often. I guess it's a matter of trial and error. If you wish to introduce new food, do it gradually and see how it goes.

Diesel's on Orijen Fish and I find it's great for him, I'm not sure that such a young pup should be on an adult food though....I'm sure someone will be along to advise...xx

Blakey has Royal Cannin, Junior at the moment. You can buy this for puppies right upto senior. Blakey had loose stools on all sorts of foods and the vets suggested this, at £18 a bag i have tried alternatives but have gone back to this as Blakey loves it and never an empty dish, lol, the stools are normal now. If you go into Vets for Pets and ask for a sample they will give you a small bag to try x

Bonnie is on PAH Large Breed Puppy, she loved it when she was very little then tested me a LOT for some time, we tried alternatives (even raw) but have gone back to PAH and she is eating well again. Her poops are a nice colour/shape/size again too Her coat is lovely and shiny and they have just improved the brand also so it has more good stuff in it than before! Its about £34 for the large size sack, lasts about 3-4weeks for her @ 11mths old. xxx

I had loads of problems with Mishka, it went as far as the vet thinking she had EPI, although tests proved clear. Tried Orijan, fish 4 dogs, Petplan sensitive and a couple of other top brands and still had problems. In the end the vet said she was just sensitive and to stick to fish based feed.
Well I bit the bullet, swapped her to raw food all in one go and have not looked back since. She is the most healthy happy well balanced dog ever.
So PLEASE at least consider raw feeding, it is so easy to do no more than feeding commercial food and so much better. And it costs about the same.
