Wrong time to reduce food?

Jazz is 6 months and has had cut paw for last 5 days so limited to 10 min walks on the lead.

I thought this was good time to go from 3 to 2 meals a day - she was getting 150g x 3 - I have increased this to about 230 x 2 . I thought with her using less energy it may be good time to reduce meals? She is just over 6 months and 27kg

But she is unsettled and restless during the day - barking at me as I ate my lunch today. Hard to tell if its just because she is frustrated with no walks or is hungry.....

Any thoughts?

I personally would reduce the third meal gradually, increasing the main 2 at the same time so that she ends up on 2 meals. My 2 both lost interest in lunch + supper early on. They have the main meal in the evening + a bit of brekkie. Main meal is about 75% of what they have in a day.

Everyone has their preferences, but this worked for me

Diesel stopped wanting 3 meals of his own choice tbh so the decision was an easy one for me...lol

I don't see why you can;t reduce her meals down to two, perhaps do as Tracey says and do it gradually...x

Archie let me know when he was ready for one meal a day. He just stopped eating breakfast, and then he stopped eating lunch as well when he was just 7 months. Oh, he might have a bite to eat if he didn't finish his dinner and I put it out again at breakfast time, but for the most part he never was a hungry dog.

Just do it gradually, I guess.

I`d go by what the dog wants. They usually lose interest in one of the meals so you cut that one and space the others out.
