ProPlan Food

Diva's on the Purina Pro Plan - Puppy Large Breed Athletic Lamb & Rice Dry Food, which is what the breeder fed her when we got her so we decided to carry on with it for a while; so far it seems to agree with her so all good. However she is very hyper and we were wondering whether the fact that she is on the Athletic variety which contains increased protein, fat and B vitamin levels to fulfill the higher energy needs during growth, as athletic physique puppies naturally have a more active metabolism compared to the other varieties, makes her even more hyper than she should be?! She is 6 months and still on 3 meals a day, a total of 500gs. Any ideas?

Sheba is on Purina Beta. When we first went to the vets she was considered small so since then I have increased her feed. She still has 4 meals at about 500g per day. Gaining weight steady but no signs of hyper activity other than normal puppy

What lines is Diva from? Working lines tend to be hyper.

We were told by the breeder that Diva's a mix of West German Showlines & working lines but our trainer at the puppy class, who owns 5 GSDs and have been training & breeding GSDs for nearly 30 years, told us she is mostly Showlines, as Schutzhund titles (which show on nearly all Diva's ancestors' pedigrees) do not mean working line! According to her, working line mean either DDR dogs or actual working dogs like Police dogs, and all Showlines in Germany need to have Schuntzhund titles unlike in other countries where you can show your GSD without the working titles. So must admit I AM most confused!!
