Where do you keep it ?

Hi
I have been taking Shebas food out of the freezer the night before so that it can defrost. At the momenet I have been keeping it in a tupperware container on the side in the litchen. We cannot smell anything but she knows its there ! Just wondered what the others that fed raw do when defrosting etc

We have an oil burning central heating system,..and part of the chimney pipe shows in the kitchen, this pipe gets hot of course,... there are three uses for this pipe, to get rid of the fumes,.. to heat the cat, and to defrost the raw food that sits in the bowls on a slelf above the said pipe

My dog's food is normally in freezer bags so I put the bag on a plate and put it in the space behind my hob (which is in a corner) so the dogs can't get at it.

About 9pm in the evening we take dex's chicken out the freezer and divide it between his two food bowls. It then goes into the fridge to defrost for the morning. He gets one bowl at 9am and another at 6.30pm. The bowls then go straight in the dishwasher, ready to be refilled at 9pm. Uber organised!

yes much more organised than me- just as well my dogs don't mind eating partially frozen meat as i'm always forgetting to take it out the night before. And if I've totally forgotten they love tinned sardines and raw eggs- my emergency meal!

I use a Tupperware type container that is airtight. I leave it on the drainer while it defrosts then put it in the fridge until it is ready to be eaten. I am very lucky in that Ozzie is not a counter surfer, I have left all sorts of things on the sides well within Ozzies reach (including beef joints, chicken, steak!!) and he will not touch them!

The bulk of my dogs' frozen raw food won't fit in a tupperware container, as chickie wings / carcasses come in 2kg bags. I put one bag in a plastic washing up bowl on a shelf in my pantry / boiler room as it gets warm in there.

Once I've used some, the bag goes in the fridge in the bottom half of a big tupperware container. 1 bag will do 2 days feed for both mine.

The offal mix comes in 1lb bags so that gets put in a stainless steel bowl in the same room. I use 1- 2 bags a day so just take 2 out of the freezer each time.

Green tripe gets defrosted in the outbuilding straight from the Mafia freezer - too stinky to have indoors!
