Butcher's Tripe

I feed Kira (and now Loba) raw, and I know a lot of people feed their dogs raw tripe. Problem is I can't get it here and was wondering if it would be worth getting tinned tripe. I'm going to Gibraltar tomorrow and I know Morrisons sell Butcher's tripe in tins.
Do you think it would be worth buying this for the dogs- I know it's cooked but I'd give them it if I thought it'd be good for them. Or does it not matter that they're not getting tripe?

If you want to feed it, then feed it.

It isn't a necessity in their diet (very good mind). Jess never used to like tripe, so didn't have it and it didn't do her any harm.

Might be worth trying it with them to see how they like it

Do you think the tinned stuff would give them as much benefits as fresh?

I wouldn't have thought so as it's cooked, so would lose some of it's nutrients.

We used Butcher's Tripe (tins) when we went on hols last year because we didn't have a portable fridge to keep the raw meat & bones in!

I wouldn't bother with it otherwise. Dogs don't need tripe, although it's a very useful offal food for them.

Thanks for your replies.

Snowed in lol my kids would love that..

I might get a few tins to have as a treat- and I'm sure Benji would like it mixed in with his dry food for a change

The breeder who we are getting the pup from suggested Butchers with Tripe as part of the diet alongside bones. He also said that he prefers a proper raw diet but he knows its not for everyone hence he suggested the butchers route.

That doesn't help much I'm afraid!
