Chappie tinned?
Hi,
Im not feeding it, but the amount of people i talk to out and about that say to me 'You want to get her on chappie, full of protein and good for sensitive stomachs, vets recommend it, and there coat is amazing on it' etc etc. As far as i knew chappie was one of the cheapest when it comes to tinned food and i automatically perceived it as crap. But i did some research and its people online that have nothing but good things to say aswell.
Was hoping some body with a bit more knowledge on dog food ingredients could shed any more light on it? Dont think i would ever feed a dog tinned food anyway (especially on its own) but im just curious now. Plus, if it really is good then it might be a good mixer to tempt dogs into eating kibble.

I totally agree, it's perfect as a bland mixer with dry food or as a recovery food. Yes your right! Many people percieve it to be rubbish because it's so cheap but they even taught us at university about the wonders of tinned Chapppie! This is the best wet food for convalescence and sensitive tummys!

Yuck.
I don't doubt it's ok for short term recovery food, but not on a regular basis.

My husband bought a tin of chappie for our lot once, as he had heard it was good for them! Never, ever, ever will they have it again!!!!
It gave them the most horrific smelly wind, they had the most awful bum gravy for two days afterwards as well!!

My friend's greyhound was good on it, he had a sensitive tum. But she didn't try any other alternatives like raw or better quality kibble to compare.
Would i feed it? No. Look at the CHO content

My Jerry was fed it at the dogs home and we it was suggested we continue so not to disrupt her tummy. She loves it and every other wet food she has had has upset her really badly. She doesn't like any buscuits but will eat them if mixed with chappie meat. I wouldn't feed her anything else.
