Bonniesmummy is a jewel in the rough
I've got a ten quid one from asda.... Never had a prob with it and I don't chop 1st either
What I would suggest is you pulse rather than blend for the 1st minute or so... That's what I do

Tedsmum will become famous soon enough
I blew up my liquidizer today doing just that.
I think it was because I was impatient and I added the flour too quickly and not enough water. It turned into pink glue and the motor burnt out on the liquidizer.
So been out and bought a food processor today, Kenwood on special off down from £69 to £39.
I will road test it on liver cake in a few weeks when the current batch runs out. Hope it is man enough or my OH will be peed off as he paid for it. x

Gill, I don't add the flour to the liquidiser... I blitz the liver, garlic and eggs in it. Then transfer to a bowl to add flour.

Kenwood food processors are amazing - my mum has one from the 70s and it's still working fine!
