feeding times ??

what is the latest you would feed your pup still on 4 meals? Sam eats well and finishes every meal but im having trouble fitting the 4 meals in. he has his first about 7.30/8 am and not ready for his 2nd till about 1sh and even then hes not asking.. he must be having a growth spurt today as played madly this afternoon fell asleep about 3 and didnt wake even when i fed the others about 6.. he came in for his about 6.30. played all evening and now sleeping on my feet and hasnt had no 4 meal! do i just give him a snack before bed or a late meal or breakfast at 6 am so i can get 4 meals down him....

How old is Sam now?

I could never get skinny-butt Archie to eat more than three meals a day, even when he was just 9 weeks, and he always left some. By seven months, he was down to one meal a day because he just would not eat! At which point I was pulling my hair out in exasperation and worry. Nothing wrong with him, he was just fussy and not terribly hungry, and mixed together these things made Archie a rubbish eater.

I don't know about with baby dogs, as eating right before bed might make them want to go to the bathroom in the night, but bedtime snacks go down well with my boy these days. He gets a biscuit and a dental stick once he's in his bed, just after he's been to the toilet for the last time. This is usually about three hours after he's eaten his dinner.

Skye is 5months old and only has two meals a day and sometimes doesn't eat it all... I switched my routine with them from eating first then walking after (an hour after feeding) to doing the walk first then feeding....worked for mine so might be worth a try.
So back to the question she gets her morning feed around 10-11 and her evening feed around 6ish. I have heard of doing little bit of feeding throughout the day but never tried it. How old is that cutie wooty now?

With the boys it was 4 meals till 12 weeks and then 3 till 6 months and 2 at 12 months. They are still on 2 meals at 2 and 1/2 years old.
Link is different she started off at 7 weeks 4 meals and at 17 weeks ive only just gone down to 3 meals and upped the quantity, but she still wants more!
She's a great weight though, fantastic waist and you can feel but not see her ribs

Olli gets fed twice a day and would cheerfully eat me out of house and home if I gave him the chance!

He gets breakfast at about 8am and dinner at about 6pm. He also gets some of his kibble to find in his crate when crated and I use his kibble as treats too. When we're at puppy training you can also count a full chicken breast in for the day.

Seems to be doing well so far, his coat is lovely, my hands can testify that he's teething ok, and we went for a practise vets visit today and he's put on 2kg since I've had him. He seems to be growing in front of my eyes, you can feel his ribs and sometimes the way he sits allows you to see his ribs hence the vet trip to be weighed to see if I need to increase his intake any more which I think I do.

I think I'm lucky that Olli is naturally food orientated because it has made training so much easier! He eats better than I do! I've lost 8lbs on this doggy diet with three walks per day lol!
