Pigs ears

Okay, I am after some advice! The butcher is getting me some pigs ears, snout and cheeks next week. What do I do with them? Feed raw or slow roast them? I was hoping that they would be a good natural heathy chew for them!!

If you roast them they don't go chewy more like crackling not like the ones you buy from pet shops, they smell delicious though and if i didn't know what they were i would have been tempted to eat one myself

yes do them on a rack so the fat drains off them - loads of fat in the cheeks

The cheeks will have tough muscle/ meat attached that is the only difference although the ears will have a small amount of muscle at the base if your butcher gives you the full ear.

If you decide to feed cooked or raw your dog will consume in no time, if you wish to turn them into chews I believe you would have to dry or freeze dry them

Will probably have a go at slow roasting them! They will probably be more likely to eat them cooked! Ozzie is a fussy sod and hates things that are "different" ! I usually get him lamb ribs, when I got him beef ribs once, he wouldn't touch them because they were "different!" we shall see, the terrors will eat them either way, they are gannets!!!

nisbreagha has a spectacular aura about
If you want them as chews you'll need to hang them to dry so maybe fr quickness slow roast for a special treat.

Anything that lasts longer than 30 seconds is classed a chew in my house, so I will probably roast them this time and see how we go! Thanks for the tips!

I would feed them raw,...its very rare that I get hold of pork like that, but have always fed raw the few times I have got hold of it,...I can understand people cooking it, but you do lose a lot of goodness that way
