How long should a 15KG bag last?

Hi everyone,

I buy 15KG bags of complete dry food and Storm get's fed twice a day, morning and evening.

I was wondering on average, how long should a bag that big last?

And what brands of complete dry should I avoid? The best and only the best for my boy.

That's how long it lasts me, he's fed a big scoop per meal (3 cups) is that about average or should it be less or more? he's not particularly fussed mind you.

15 kg bag of arden grange last 7 days here with 4 sheps, one of which is elderly and whos appetite is poor. That probably means a month is about right for one dog.

It really depends upon the dog and his weight, if he looks and feels the right weight then i would stick with the amount your giving, if your unsure it might be worth popping in for a weigh in at your vets to see how much he weighs

I fed roughly x2 400g meals daily to titon but that was because he was overweight.

Well when he was rescued by the lady I got him from he was very underweight. 3 years old weighing in at 21.7kg!!! His previous owner weighed him in the middle of December and he weighed 32.7kg, then I weighed him last week and he weighs 33.2kg so he's going up in weight which is brilliant.

Ideally I'd like him on 1 meal a day but that wont be until he's weighing around 36-40kg.

Crikey! That is underweight! Skye is nearly ten months and weighed 30kg a couple weeks ago...... at least his weight is increasing slowly, that is a very good step in the right direction
Sounds like you've got the quantity right and i think a 15kg bag does well to last a month, if my two had had their way i'd have been buying them daily

Wow that's heavy for 10 months! Good though! I'm glad the stress of him being from pillar to post all these weeks hasn't caused him to lose weight, but gain it instead!

His fosterer seems to think he has a hearing difficulty, I've sometimes thought that but I think it's all down to selective hearing. He only listens to me when it's interesting, however if I'm giving him a command he doesn't wanna know. :/

Selective hearing happens here too especially if there's no treat in exchange for a command!
It might be worth getting a vet to just double check that though..... if he get's the all clear then you know he's just being stubborn :P
Keep doing what your doing regarding the feeds, like you say if he's gaining weight then that's brilliant and anything your unsure of you will be sure to get an answer on here
xx
