Excited about dogs dinner tonight lol

For the last week the girls have been having 2 or 3 chicken wings each, mainly just using them as training treats. The results have been great even with such a small part of the diet being raw. Already I've seen a difference in poo, smaller and firmer.
So today at tea time they will have the first actual raw meal. They will be having chicken thighs with lambs heart to introduce another meat. Do you think this will be ok?

Oooh! I know exactly what you mean! I've been giving Isla a chicken wing for her breakfast for the past 2 days - don't know if it'll make a difference though and havent seen her poos yet (the OH has had that little pleasure!)

Do yours chew at them for a few mins and then down them? I got such a fright when Isla did this - watched her closely in case she seemed unwell but she was fine

Did you get the heart from the supermarket or did you have to go to the butcher?

Hope tonights dinner goes well - sure they will be over th moon to have such tasty morsels! x

I'm sure the dogs will be fine and will thoroughly enjoy their first full raw meal.

I just bought them from the supermarket. £1.60 for 3 lamb hearts. I'm paying the butchers a visit tomorrow to see what I can get from them. I plan on getting mostly from DAF as they deliver to this area, just rearranging freezers right now.
They crunch pretty well and seem to break it down really well before swallowing although I wouldn't leave them alone to eat it anyway.
They have just finished tea and I have to say, it was great to see them so enthusiastic. Even hubby is becoming interested now. He hates raw meat so it would always be commercial dog food he fed but after seeing them today he's changed his mind. He says he will just handle the raw meat with a sandwich bag over his hand lol.

Just a little update.
Things are going very well. We have now aquired a fridge freezer, leaving the chest freezer just for dog food. We have found our local butcher sells pet mince quite cheap and they both love it. There is no bones in it and only a small amout of offal. I can make the bone content up elsewhere.
They have so far had pet mince, all parts of the chicken, rabbit, lambs hearts, marrow bones and some tripe.
Until today it's been commercial for breakfast then raw for tea. They now have no enthusiasm for breakfast, knowing a good thing when they see it they much prefer tea time. They get so excited at tea time. This week it's raw all the way and goodbye commercial.
I'm monthly paid so next week I'll put my first order in with DAF and include some oily fish too. It will be so much cheaper than buying locally too. I wish I'd done this months ago.
Also...I was away for 5 days last week, leaving hubby with the dogs. Not only did he go shopping for their food, he weighed it and portioned it. He is loving this feeding regime now, after saying he wouldn't touch the raw food. He's started reading up on it too and taking a huge interest so it's all good.
