height n weight issues and general lankyness???

Not sure if i posted this in the right place but it kind of is food related...
bandit is now 6 months old he weighs in at 29kg and stands 25 inches tall (from bottom of his paw to this shoulder blade - that is where i take the measurement from isnt it?)

ive noticed with Bandit that he tends to grow up and then outwards if that makes sense and at the moment i think he is having an "up" growth spurt as he looks so lanky but he also has a waist which make him look really skinny and lanky.

when he was a pup he was fed purely on Eukanuba puppy til he was 12 weeks and then we changed him on to the James well beloved and he eats approx 250g - 300 daily (soaked in water) the thing is im not sure he really likes it - he seems to like tinned food better but since i found out it was 80% water - the james wellbeloved food seemed a better option in terms of nourishment and having the added extra supplements in it.
if i give bandit tinned food he will wolf down 3 x 1200g tins a day - now this is where i am confused - is he eating so much tinned meat as it contains practically nothing and if he has the dried food soaked is this enough for him - cos at the moment hes looking at me as if to say - "well if thats all you got - it will have to do"

i did think intially the cause of him being thin around the waist was due to him needing worming - but i stronghold him on the 1st of every month.
does his weight - height ratio sound about right for a 6 mth old pup because im looking at him thinking its not as hes so long and lanky?
does anyone have any tips or other food recomendations please or am i barking up the wrong tree? (sorry no pun intended!)

Rocky is exactly them same. lankey and looks skinny on the back end, although rocky is a tad shorter he's 23 inchs to the shoulder, ive been told they tend to grow up first then out.

Anyhow he sounds at rockys kinda ratio and rocky is 6 month too so probably normal

Diesel was sooo lanky for ages, with oversized paws & ears...and he was slim so I really wouldn't worry. Diesel didn't fill out until he was 2.5yrs old.....GSD's mature at 3 I was told.

Sorry I just realised I didn't answer your question about the food....Diesel was a very picky eater and we're now totally settled on Arden Grange, he wolfs it down. I was told by my vet not to feed according to the info on the back on the food bag because it encourages you to over-feed your dog so even if he's looking at you as if "is that it" don't be tempted to give him more.

I'm sure there will be others on here with more advice......
