Iam's - Cruelty Uncovered!
I have just seen the most harrowing scenes of dogs treated in the most appalling way, all in the name of Iams pet food.
PLEASE, if anyone on this forum is feeding their pets Iams, take a minute to watch this footage. I pray to God you will STOP.
Just follow this link IamsCruelty.com

Mel, why don't you drop a line to their customer service dept, link on first post.
There are so many pet food companies who do NOT test on animals, Iams have absolutely no excuse

Its not justs Iam's food that Proctor & Gamble make
Boycott Procter & Gamble
iams / eukanuba animal tests
Pet food vivisection
IAMS and Eukanuba are P&G brands of pet food. In May 2001 Uncaged exposed horrific accounts of cats and dogs used and killed in experiments for IAMS/Eukanuba with a front page story in the national press.

No I know However, if we pet owners take a stand and sales drop, it will undoubtedly make them think. Especially since there are a long list of pet food companies who do NOT test on animals.
Also dropping a line to their sales team will also help.
With regard to Eukanuba, that is a terrible diet. The dogs I have known suffering from hyperactivity, are usually fed on this rubbish. It has such a high protein content, which is fine for working dogs (well not in this case), but terrible for pet dogs.

This has been going on for years. I put stickers in Safeway asking people to boycott it and successfully got my vet to stop stocking it. I used to feed my dogs James Wellbeloved and I wrote to them asking if they tested their products on animals.
Apparantly they had received a number of enquiries and issued a statement stating that the only testing carried out was taste tasting on their employees pets in their own homes.
If this is the same footage one of the dogs is a gsd they have a miserable existance and the suffering they endure is inexcusable.

I have just received a reply from Iams customer service dept, which follows this message.
My reply was simple, why if they are as passionate as they proclaim, do they continue to test on animals, when other reputable companies do not. I await their answer!
Thank you for taking the time to write to us regarding our research and feeding studies. We are passionate about cats and dogs with a deep commitment to their health and welfare, so we understand how important this issue is to you.
For several years misleading and inaccurate information has been circulating and I appreciate this opportunity to provide you with the facts.
To ensure that our products are safe and wholesome, we have the responsibility to pet owners to feed our products to dogs and cats. Over 70% of the dogs and cats in our feeding studies live in consumers' homes; however, some of our feeding studies require a controlled environment and are conducted at our own Pet Health and Nutrition Center or at an organization where pets are already residing-like animal shelters, or groups that train and provide assistance dogs.
The controlled studies are the veterinary equivalent of nutritional or medical studies acceptable on people. These studies are monitored by our own staff of veterinarians, behaviorists and independent experts. Our dogs and cats get the most advanced pet nutrition and health care as we develop formulas to help all cats and dogs live longer and healthier lives.
At our Pet Health and Nutrition Center, dogs are housed with a companion (because dogs are pack animals). Each kennel has a doggie-door that takes them to an outside run, so they have plenty of room to run and play. Each dog is provided with his or her own toys (rotated on a regular basis) and their very own comfortable bed to sleep on. There is also a dog park adjacent to the kennels where the dogs play and interact each day in play groups.
Our cats are housed in compatible play groups. Each room is furnished with beds, toys (to stimulate play) and several perches, which allow the cats to observe things from a higher viewpoint. They also have a very large window, which has a platform for the cats to lie in the sun or just sit and watch the birds feeding at the outside bird feeders.
