ok where do I start, firstly ®/™ Pedigree Trademark of Mars,

GSDs can really suffer with their tums, Chum is terrible for causing runs. I would never give my GSD anything but his everday food, also chum is very high is addatives, so you could end up with a hypo gsd, and the gsd is hypo enough.

Jo you will have to wean her off the chum gradually ,

but the answer is feed the food that suits you and your dog, sorry for confusing you more, and I so cannot wait to see pictures this weekend

*butchers would be better than chum*

Switching the food straight over can up-set their tummies too. We did have Sophie on Royal Canaine for the large breed puppy and she was fine on it, but the got bored and wouldn't eat it

If you do go for feeding her that try looking at the pet shop though it normally cheaper than the vets! :

We are just about to move Roo over to Royal Canin GSD Pup food because of the contents and the huge benefits it offers. As most of you are aware Roo has HD and has been on Hills p/d diet to aid her progress, and thankfully it has worked really well for her, so now it's time to bring her back onto something else that is suitable.

If a dog shows signs of 'boredom' with food it is wise to provide a window of opportunity with them, rather than constantly trying to find a suitable alternative, as they generally do get picky and can be a result of not settling on one food. The likes of Royal Canin, Burns, James Wellbeloved & Hills are very good dry options. I would suggest that anyone having problems with dogs not eating to leave the food down for no more than 15 minutes, if they don't eat it pick it up and re-feed at the next meal, they will soon learn that in order to get food they have to eat within that 'window of opportunity', dogs will never starve themselves, and a good routine will build up out of it.

Weaning is a must to ensure no upset stomachs.

I did feed raw, and still do to a certain degree, but having a pup with HD means I have to ensure she is getting the right balance, Royal Canin certainly seems to be a good choice!

Good luck with it all.

Jo
