Jake has the Pets at Home brand Wainwrights puppy food, he likes the Salmon and Potato version, but it has to have something tasty mixed in. That tends to be anything from hotdogs to rice and veg. He seems to find dry food on it's own boaring.

Hi Jakeyboy

Have you tried mixing his food with a bit of warm water?? Diesel was exactly the same, but would wolf it down if it had more of a smell to it.

Oh & welcome to the forum, beautiful pup you have btw

Lynn

Hi Lynn and all,

Thanks for the welcome Jake refuses to be conned by the warm water trick. He just sits there and loks at me as if to ask why I don't love him anymore! Sometimes he has to either eat it or go without but usually it's not a problem and he has a mix of whatever veg we've eaten or some of the gooodies from his training treat bag.

He is beautiful isn't he that pic was taken about a month ago, he is now 5 and half months and getting sooo big!

The only thing he can't tolerate is Chicken, it gives the most vile smelling wind. I spoke another GSD owner and they have had the same problem. I was wondering if anyone else has come accross it?

Tara

LOL @ not being taken in by the warm water trick - damn they're clever!

He is absolutely beautiful, you will need to post some pics because we can't get enough of puppy pics on here especially me....I'm so broody for another It's scary how quickly they grow isn't it?! It only seems like last year that Diesel was 5 months....

Diesel isn't too tolerant to chicken, he can have small amounts but give him too much and it will run out of him....Diesel tends to burp (in your face ) rather than pass wind - both are not very nice

Henry just loves his huge bones from the butcher but if I let him have a piece of cheese he stinks!!!

He would do anything for a piece of chicken though

I am feeding mine on Royal Canin GSD, she was fed Bakers before.
