Contradictions ref food types not to feed

I have recently read on the following link what not to feed our dogs:

http://en.allexperts.com/q/Dogs-701/Dogs-Eat.htm

The problems I have with this are, after reading the Jan Fennel books, who seems to be somewhat of an expert on dogs, she says that she uses cheese as a tidbit for training purposes. This link states that dogs are lactose intolerant and they shouldn't be fed any kind of dairy products. I have also been told to sporadically add a raw egg to her food for her coat, however, this falls yet again into this category.

HELP!!!!!!

Andy

Unhappy Eek

Scary- thank you for posting that link though.
Bit worried now as Ty went through a phase of stealing grapes from our fruit bowl and stripping the lot off the vine and scoffing them. We've also fed him the odd apple core in the past too thinking it was ok / even healthy but your link says the pips are a no-no.
Wonder why they are so mad keen on things that are so dangerous to them- you'd have thought evolution would have taught them to steer clear... (speaking of the more natural items that is at least!)
I will be more vigilant now anyhoo... Thanks again.
xx

PS your pictures of Bonny are sooooo sweet! Keep them coming!

Gosh that is scary, I give George a raw egg every so often, full of protein, he has never had grapes before, I knew they could be toxic, I always use cheese and liver cake for training, he adores oranges & water Melon (without the pips)

Going to look into this, I shall be back

Although I knew about some of the obvious ones like chocolate, some of the others I can't help but feel are exaggerated somewhat. Apple pips are toxic to humans too but only in large enough quantities (ever wondered what makes them taste bitter? It's cyanide). I reckon I too shall go and look into this mysterious contradiction and try to find some scientific studies to back up these claims.
