i have heard over the years that some people take gsd pups off puppy food at 6 mnths of age is this right or wrong just never heard it before

I took mine off kibble at 4 months when I changed them over to Raw and if Id have had more info about it I would have started them at 8 weeks when I got them.
I think if your Pup is on kibble you should feed Puppy til they are approx 1 year old JMO

It all depends on what dog food you feed, as every manufactuer is different.

For example; Burns, suggest that you change over at 6 months old, whereas Orijen Large breed Puppy food, they suggest that the dog is kept on this food until 18 months old.

My boy is 9 months old, he is on large breed Arden Grange, & will stay on this until he's 12 months old.

So in nutshell, choose what brand of dog food you want to use, & see what they reccommend.
