Also did the vet say he was dehydrating or does he seam hydrated he might just need time to get over not drinking I know its difficult but try not to worry about him not drinking because a dog can pick up your concern

when he drank water when he got ill, it all came back up, and he didnt want to eat at all... wednesday two weeks ago he was to unstabile to have the surgery because he was too dehydrated.. he got 3 liter IV at the vet and they couldnt wait anylonger with the op thursday two weeks ago, so he had the op then.. but not fun sitting at home not knowing if he made it or not, and the vet told me straight that i may not ever see him alive again.. but he prooved once more that he is not ready to pass the rainbow and survived ... tears of joy when the vet called me when the op was done.

Late last nite he went to his waterbowl and had a few sips of water.. lol..and mum was is tears again.. lol.. yeah I know.. I am a softy..

today I will try not to soak his food so much and see if he drinks more :-)

Thank u all

So pleased he is drinking a little bit. After Murphy had his op we gave him some sweet decaf tea, he wasn't at all interested in water though.

Give half goats milk and half water. Only a small amount at a time. Gradually reduce the amount of milk in water till eventually its nearly all water.
I had this problem with one of mine after an operation so I cooked her meat and gave her the water it was cooked in, used more water than needed. She did drink plain water eventually. God only knows what caused it.
If I show her a syringe now she remembers and runs.Just had to resort to syringing it in at one time.
