Limping
Hello Everyone.
I was playing with Sienna this evening in the garden with her ball.
She was racing around , quite vigourously sometimes , for about an hour.
Soon after she started limping and will not put any weight on her rear right leg. I have checked for any damage or a foreign object in her paw.
I have rubbed all around her leg and hip area and she doesnt react as though shes in pain. She isnt whining or showing any signs of being in pain, but wont put any weight on it.
Shes going to the vets Monday morning to be spayed.
Should I wait until then to see if it clears up?
Thanks
Paul

The chances are that she has just strained it or pulled the muscle a bit,.. give her a days rest tomorrow, and I am sure she will be good by the end of the weekend,..so I would wait untill your vets visit.

I totally agree with stuart, she's probably just whopped it. Del and JL do this all the time, they're such chaotic clumsy little terrors!

I wouldnt worry too much, Maisie did the same thing, they can strain or pull a muscle easy, just rest it for a day or so, and not run her until she is putting weight on it sensibly again.
I took Maisie to the vets with hers, and he said its common in the GSD, and all it was was a pulled muscle, she was back to normal in 3 -4 days

Thanks for the replies.
She seems a bit better today, not limping as much and is putting weight on her leg a bit more.
She keeps bringing her ball to me to throw it for her! Poor thing.
She s going to the vets in the morning to be spayed. Not looking forward to leaving her there

At least after she's spayed she'll have to rest a while, & that'll probably help her leg to recover properly!

Hi all.
Sienna is a lot better today and is walking on her leg fine now.
She has gone to the vets to be spayed now and the vet said he would check it over while shes under.
It was horrible leaving her there and the waiting is terrible!
