I have finally managed to jump back on here after what has to have been a few weeks of complete nightmarish proportions.
Zak, who has never been a good eater, suddenly started refusing his food about three weeks ago, he was barely managing 70gms of feed a day. Then last Saturday after being at the beach I noticed a limp. Needless to say I erred on the side of caution and thought the silly numpty had pulled a muscle. He was at the Vet's on Tuesday which rapidly turned into a saga, subsequently went to vet hospital for x-rays where they discovered the dreaded dysplasia of his right elbow.
When I went to collect him I spent half an hour with the vet whilst we discussed options - because he is so young, needless to say my option was a referral to orthopod for advice as to how to proceed (my lovely vet thought this was prudent as they had never seen a joint like this in such a young dog). He is going in on Monday, chances are they will operate as he is so young.
Today though, as he is drugged to the nines (Tramadol - yum) he is back to his puppyish ways!!
The food thing is apparently because he is in pain - makes sense really - have discovered he loves eggs so his food is laced with boiled eggs and as long as he is spaced out then he eats.
