No, they're not & that's why I think you should try to find another!

If he is constipated you could try a different food (raw tripe often works wonders, as does raw liver or kidneys!).

However, tinned food doesn't usually make a dog constipated unless the food itself is very dry & full of biscuit meal. Which tinned food do you give him?

They won't normally give anything for consipation unless it's severe, and then I think, it's a liquid.

Much better, however, to change his diet first to see if that works.

You really need to take him to the vet he is in pain the vet will either give you liquid parafin (excuse spelling) or if it is bad enough he will need an enema the longer it goes one the more chance your boy has of doing dammage to himself straining.

I dont think it sounds like constipation,.. but if you think it is, then fish oil or whole fish would do the job

if it was either of our dogs i would be on the phone calling around for a vet that would assist.
they could prescibe something for you to give to calm him down i would think,he could be muzzled.
perhaps a home visit?or a different sex vet?

You could try buying some calm medication from pets at home or something rather than have it prescribed. I think a new vet is definitely in order and a different sex one sounds like a good idea

Good luck and let us know how you get on xxx
