Looks like Leo has AF - I am devastated

Have just been cleaning Leo's bum area because it was such a mess, he is never the cleanest of dogs but it was particularly bad, and found that he has a fistula.

I am devasted looks like we will have to go through the whole atopica/nizoral thing again with Leo.

Thanks Tracey and Anni.

I have just shaved/cleaned all around his bumhole which was caked in poo, ewww not a nice job. I think he has been neglecting himself becasue its sore.

He has never had it before whereas Sami has had it off and on for years so its a possibility its just a one off. I think the vet will treat it as AF because Sami has had it and I think its supposed to be genetic.

I dread to think what Leo will be like with the meds, Sami was bad enough but she is quite tough Leo is a proper mardy pants at the best of times.

Aw well thats my new wood floor gone again.

Tracy

I am so sorry to hear this . I lost my lovely Cassie to this she just never got better and could not cope with the treatment. She was too far into this condition and just too ill before they even tried the treatment. It's a horrible condition to have . I wish you all the very best and hope it is just a one off and everything works out. I have since heard a great sucess rate when caught early and atopica is expensive but effective. Goodluck my thoughts are with you. xx
