Angry Sliced pad

Well poor Maddie has sliced her front right pad again, did it on Sunday when we went to the beach, broken glass

The bit of pad which was sliced open, two parallel cuts, didnt seem that deep have closed, never saw any blood, but she limped straight away, and is still very noticably limping

Checked paw for anything else, thorns or whatever, nothing. We've cut her walks down a bit, keeping her to grass where we can. Just worried the limp is the result of something else?

Aww, poor Maddie! Just keep an eye on the wound to make sure it doesn't become infected. Try resting her as much as possible. The wound is probably still tender despite being closed, and that is hopefully the cause of her limp. If she is still noticeably limping in a couple of days, I would take her to the vet for a check over! Big hugs for Maddie!

Aww bless her, why don't people pick up their litter?!

I would rest her for a few days and as Laura says just keep an eye on her wound, you can always get her a boot when she goes back out so you can ensure the wound is kept clean....xx

I know when Ozzie sliced his leg open, he was going slightly crazy by the end of the week! His was a really nasty cut though and started bleeding every time he ran around!! Hopefully Maddie should be back to normal with a few days rest!

Before simply resting the paw,.. just make absolutly sure that there is no glass left in,..or the pad will heal over the glass, and will make the problem worse to deal with
