Storm is not well!

Poor Storm is feeling poorly today! He has had diarrhoea and vomitting a few times today and is feeling very sorry for himself! I am starving him until tommorrow then it's chicken and rice to see if it passes. Really hope it is just a wee bug and not too serious! What do you all do when your dog has sickness, diarrhoea or both. Are there any magic remedies? If he is not any better tomorrow then it's off to the vets!

I would allows fresh drinking water, no gulping though just little and often to prevent dehydration. Starve and try very plain scrambled egg (no butter, salt etc) or as you said chicken and rice...I know it's gross but note the colour and consistency of the vomit and faeces, also keep track if how many "episodes" of vomiting and diarrhoea Storm has just in case the vet asks...GSD are sensitive creatures it's probably nothing untoward! See how it goes over night, if it gets worse or carries on I would get checked xx

Bad tummy = stop feeding

For 24 hours, depending on age, then as Chazz says light bland stuff.

Hope he's ok hunni, big huggles for you all xxxxxxxxx

Thanks for the advice! Scrambled eggs sounds good but Strorm won't touch it unfortunately! Chicken and rice he likes so it will be this! I have been mental noting colour and consistency but think I will write it down incase the vet needs this, Thanks for the tip! He usually has a stomach of steel and is not prone to upsets! The only thing I can think of is it has been very warm and while out he drank water from a pond , not a very clean pond so maybe something there upset him, Other than that no change to diet . I feel sooo guilty he knows his meal time and usually takes me to his bowl or plonks it on my knee! It has been plonked many times on floor , knee etc! Sorry Storm your tummy needs a rest tonight!
