Stomach Issues
I am appealling for help with my 5yr old GSD She has had diarrhea since xmas. I have been back and forth to vets for last 5 months having poo tests, blood tests, anti biotics, vitiman jabs, perscription diets (hills i/d) but nothing has cured the problem. Does anyone on here have the same problem or know of any solutions? She has lost lots of weight (down to 20kg now) and is developing dry skin problems. Any advice would be much appriciated

Oh my goodness, how distressing. Has the vet no idea at all?
Has he carried out a full allergy test?

I too would be looking for another vet.
Just imagine being like that since Christmas.
She must be feeling low in herself. that weight drop is not good for her.
Hope you get answers very soon.
By the way, hello and welcome.

Hello + welcome
Is your doggie insured? You could insist on being referred to a specialist. I'm afraid I'd be looking for a new vet too if you are able.
Please keep us posted, we all want to help if we can xxx

thank you for your kind words. Ive put so much time in with this one vet I feel obliged to carry it through, They have done test after test but all they have come up with is she has 'antibiotic responsive diarrhea' The poo test showed a bacteria that only the most expensive tablets could fix but the diarrhea came straight back when she finished the course, The food was clinically approved to stop diarrhea in 3 days but has failed The blood tests show nothing wrong, a pancrias test came back clear. Her diet is so restrictive, she cant have any treats, poor girl, Shes a wonderful dog and doesnt deserve to be poorly

No she doesn't, so you must get a second opinion. You wouldn't go to the same GP if you didnt think he was treating you properly, so you have to get a second opinion for your dog as she deserves it xxx

It must be so fustrating for you to see your beautiful girl pooly.
I do hope you get answers soon.
I really would get a second opinion.
I think you've give your vet 7 months to sort this.
That 'sa long time in a dogs life, God love her.
Good luck in all you do with her.
