...gives me the shivers.....

...not been on for a wee while...(back on to get some brilliant hoofs)....anyway was out walking last night and decided to take a wee detour round suburbia...cutting through fields...that were over grown and I hadn't been through before...only to realise this morning that Sheba had a massive tick on the front of her chest.....embedded big time...have to say haven't dealt wi these wee beasties before...and had a bit of a wee dilema....they give me the shivers....anyway sorted now....rubbed the beastie clockwise till it was dizzy... and it fell off...the bleach was oot!!!!!!!

We've got two GSD's in at the moment for residential training, grooming and diet change.

One of them came to us with a huge tick on its face. Had to go to the catery next door for their tick tweezers. Ew.

Aww poor Sheebs
Pleased you managed to get it out though, Troy had one near his eye last year, luckily it was cream coloured so hadnt fed yet and was easy to remove Pm'd you re hoofs xxx

Oh I blooming hate the lil buggers Bonnie has had one twice 1st time I got the vet to remove it and 2nd time a mate lol
She used to be on Advocate for her flea and worm but now she is on a new one for fleas n ticks with a seperate wormer and so far so good ....NO TICKS thank god lol xxx

,... you were lucky to get it out by rubbing clockwise, because they drill into the skin clockwise,.. you really need to ` unscrew` a tick, take a pair of tweezers, and make about 6-7 turns,... I didnt believe this when our vet told us more than ten years ago,.. but it has been the way we have done it ever since

iv never ever seen a tic.only in pictures. none of my dogs have ever had one. im glad really because they sound horrible

....you wouldn't believe it ..but this morning I found a raised lump that was crusty and bloody ..under her front leg.....below where she had the tick...shaved and cleaned and I think it could be from a bloody tick??..I brush Sheba everyday and check,but only seen this this morning...feel quite bad...would have put pic up but haven't quite sussed photobucket..not sure if I should be taking her to vet...waiting on my vet nurse friend coming to look at......

Not experienced TICKS Thankfully! I hate creepy crawlies, sooooo really dreading the day I have to deal with this! Well done you for dealing with it!

Thanks...if it swells any more it's a trip 2 vet and it will need to be lanced...now I am wary walkin through fields....
