Mesquitoes?

Does anyone know a good spray, repellant, or pill to help with mesquitoes? I am going back to my hometown in about a month and I heard they are worse than last year. Since I will be visiting my fam for almost 2 weeks, the dogs will be outside most the time if possible (small house for 2 BIG dogs). I will not keep them outside if I can't keep the mesquitoes off them, but kinda need to for obvious reasons. Is there anything that actually works? I have near no mesquitoes by me so cannot test/try anything. I will however buy a few things before I go if I need to. There, it is you walk out the door and are surrounded by them. Last year for the little bit they were out as soon as I got back and would pet them atleast 10 flew off their fur. When I stepped out to walk them I was covered in bites. Has anyone here found a cure to this problem?

Where abouts are you going to?,...

I am not sure about mosquitoes, but for Midges we use `Raid, fly and wasp killer` the one with the blue top, we use this to spray the dogs with when they come inside, we hold them in the conservatory for a few minutes after spraying,.. then allow them in the house,..ortherwise they would bring in swams of the little blighters

....... and `Avon skin so soft` for yourself

Going to

Wisconsin, I thought where I am now wud be worse for such things but not even comparable. Skin so soft stuff I tried last year (among many many others) for myself that did not stop anything. BUT, since there are so many flea treatments and I did finally find one that worked with fleas left and right in the area last year I was hoping I just did not find the right one yet!

Not sure why that would help, but I have about 2 weeks before I leave for Wisconsin, mosquitoe country. I know it is horrible up there, last summer I tried taking the dogs for their daily walk and we were all swarmmed when we stepped out the door (at 6am when they shud not be up yet). This year I heard is worse. The more ideas, the more I have to give the vet to sell to me before I leave! Am sooooo dreading this trip with the dogs!
The kids are complaining of the 2 mosquitoe bites each of them have now....apparently they forgot how bad Wisconsin was. They will remember quickly!

Queensland where I am is bad for mossies especially after the floods. Check with your vet as there are some mossie sprays you can use on your dogs.

I dose myself up with b12 which helps keep them away.

Are your dogs on heartworm prevention?
