Oddly enough, we had an owner in today whos Retriever is allergic to all meat and she feed Fish4Dogs. Her boy has the sea jerky and sea biscuit as treats and he's in great nick.

She said that she was going to look at Wafcol Salmon & Potato and Symply Salmon & Potato but as Fish4Dogs now do a Salmon she is going to try this as an alternative now and again.

Well it came back and said he scored a 3 on every meat! He can have fish, duck, rice and potatoes. He can't even have cows milk!

We have found a complete dry food he can have. Jwb duck and rice or barking heads salmon and potato.
But what treats can he have?

I can't believe he can't have meat!
Does anyone know what mark these tests go up to? 5 or 10? He scored 3 on everyone.

Thanx for all advice SONYA x
Hi Sonya, usually the scoring for the tests are out of 5. You could check with your vet though. Bizarre isn't it - a carnivore allergic to meat.

The link below looks like it might be for condoms, but it's a dog food company, honest!

ArchandEbs will become famous soon enough
My mum and dad's dog was allergic to meat. They fed her on fish, potatoes, rice, carrots and something else I can't remember because it was over 20 years ago. She had a really happy, healthy diet and there weren't the commercial foods available now.

Just a quickie!! I paid nearly £800 at my vets for the same bloods (allergen) ones and they came back saying Blade was allergic to EVERYTHING apart from eggs and wheat!! When I went to the referral centre at Newmarket they said the test isn't worth the paper it's written on and the only true way to find out if a dog is allergic to something is to eliminate it for 8 weeks, note symptoms then re introduce and then note symptoms again!

Hope you find the real cause of the problem and things improve. XXXX

My o/h doesn't believe it. He still thinks it's hayfever of some sort . We agreed to eliminate all the things the test says he is allergic too and see wot happens, then we would start to reintroduce meat one thing at a time.
