...skin thing??
...I still haven't picked up the photo bucket yet...dippit...only seem to come on randomly but find the forum brilliant for advice and a good way to bounce off people...noticed today that Sheba doing alot of biting at her front leg..only to notice that where she had previously had a tick bit is now in a red blotchy rash up her leg...with the hair having thinned...not sure what to make of it...lookd at other posts....have cleaned up and put a bit sudocream on??.....not sure if this is the wet weather?...as she has had a patch before and the vet had it down to being the gritty roads??...which cleared up.....???....also Sheba has reverted back to biting the lead...in the last week...I have not been able to give her a walk at all without it happening on going out and coming back off a walk....she is OK walking when given a tennis ball to carry and have been consistent at stopping, stating the leave command, stopping and turning back..to no avail at the moment..I think that I should be able to walk her without having a tennis ball but what do you think???...I was thinking of using a chain lead for a short period?...which may stop the constant biting of lead???...not sure...it's quite hard to hold a hot bag of poo, whilst walking a jumping gsd, that is the same height..in a storm...I know that we women are good at multi tasking...lol....sorry for the wee ramble...

As far as trying to give advice to the red blotch,.. when ticks are biting they inject a substance that allows the blood to flow and not clot,.. this is what give us ,...and the dogs the itch.
Sometimes, both humans and dogs can have a bad reaction, especialy if we keep scratching/biteing the area,...its a possibility

How long ago was the tick and who removed it?
Is it possible that the head was left in?
If so she may need antibiotics from the vet as it could be infected.

This is very likely to happen if the tick is not removed correctly

I'll comment on lead biting as you've had good advice on the skin problem already... Lead biting / grabbing needs to be stopped - the dog's dictating the walk, not you and you need to be the one in control.
So reinforce your obedience commands with her. 'Leave it!' or whatever you use. Try to get in with the command before she grabs the lead. If she grabs lead, say 'Ah - ah!' or 'No! and walk backwards still facing forwards, she'll have to come with you. When she releases lead and does this, praise her and move forward again.
I wouldn't use a ball - she may be behaviour linking, playing up to get the ball. Just some thoughts...
