Poop related question
My 1 year old German Shepherd has recently started leaving smearings of faeces when he sits down as if he has not cleaned his bottom properly. His bowel movements are normal and his behaviour has not changed. His anus looks normal but a little more smelly. What could be causing this?

I would take him to the vet and get his anal glands looked at. It may not be poop but anal secretions and this means that his glands could need emptying.
It is nothing serious but very irritating for the dog.

I agree with Gill, most likely his glands. Defo best done by a vet ...yukk!!!

I'd sway AWAY!

Get the vet to check his anal glands - if they need emptying I always get a vet to do it; they are paid to do the horrible smelly & disgusting jobs!
