Storm at Vets

Storm had to visit the Vet last night. She is now 16 months old. At the weekend she started limping, not sure what she has done, as she didn't yelp or whinge etc. She was running around after Yogi after we first spotted her limping, so knew she hadn't broken her leg, but then she will start limpihng badly again. The Vet thinks she has strained a muscle or something in the leg, so gave her a 5 day course of anti-inflamatory tablets and see how she is in 10 days time. Has anybody else had the same sort of problem, as i am worried that this may happen again. She is feeling very sorry for herself

Poor Storm - I do hope she is ok. A few pills, rest, and restrcted exercise and I am sure she will be back to normal in no time!

Diesel has done this on several occasions - you will probably find posts on here somewhere. He just loves to run after his ball on a rope sooo much he just gets over zealous sometimes and ends up straining one of his legs and ends up with a limp for a week. So its anti inflammatory inj and some metacam and restricted excercise unless he's better!

Zeus had a similar problem earlier on in the year after straining himself chasing a frisby on the beach. The limp was noticable but not severe, we took him to a vets in Porthmadog as we were on holiday, he checked his shoulder and diagnosed a strain, he was prescribed a 7 day course of Rimadyl, he advised us to reduce the amount of tablets if Zeus improved, we were told only to allow gentle on lead exercise and he told us to visit our own vet if he was no better a week on. It didn't take long to heal, he didn't finish all of the tablets and no follow up was required.
He was most put out at not being allowed to play with his frisby for the rest of the holiday though, every morning he woke me up early and would sit by the awning door waiting with his favourite toy looking up at me with his big brown eyes....I felt sooooo sorry for him bless

Aww..poor Storm. I hope the pills the vet put her on do the trick. A little rest and lots of cuddles and hopefully she'll be back in good shape very soon.
