...advice:(....no well well lassie..

...help....sheba has had the runs and constipated from Friday....feeling quite guilty as she used to be on Vitalin active, with no problems but changed last week, as the delivery guy that comes, his supplier, has went into administration...to expensive for diesel!!.....my main worry is that Sheba doesn't drink alot and I don't want her to become dehydrated...the new food is obviously not agreeing with her....was thinking of giving her chappie??..I know that alot of people feed different but was wondering how I can make sure she is drinking enough??...she has also been scratching and biting alot...thought it might be fleas...paranoid about beasties...(skin thing thread)..have stripped beds, hoovered etc...noticed this morning that she has a wee sore on her back leg...do you think I should be visiting the vet???.... .

hi, i think a sudden change of food can cause poop problems in some dogs, i cant really help there but someone will be along who can.

We have used chappie for a short period in the past till we worked out what was causing her to be loose (outlaws thinking she was a bin as it happens), as well as bland meals of chicken and rice or tuna and rice just to let her stomach settle.

My reason for posting, I've also been using Vitalin, last time we went to stock up the pet shop owner told us that Vitalin themselves went into administration, it was looking like they might be bought over, who by i don't know. Will find out when we get to near the bottom of the bag.

I hope you get sorted. Horrible when they are ill.

Aww the wee soul. It`s not fun when they`re not quite themselves. I know changing especially a sudden change in food can upset their system but with re- dehydration I gauge it on.... are they alert, responsive, are they passing urine, is the urine dark??? If in doubt always give the vet a shout. Hope things improve soon.

I'd be worried that she hasn't passed urine. Dodgy tums often settle, and the change in diet might have caused that, but not having a wee Is she drinking?

Diesel has terrible tummy trouble, we ended up taking him to the vets and he had a B12 injection, some antibiotics and we were told to feed Chappie for a while and it's worked a treat.

I would get her to the vets if she's not peeing properly....
