Wobbly legs??

Hi just wanted some advice on walking Sam.

I know the general rule of thumb is 5mins per month of age, I have just up'd his morning walk to 20 mins and we cover about 1.5 miles (all on pavement and all on the lead) he then gets a 5 min run around off lead. I noticed today after his walk that his front legs were wobbling a sort of strong shivering I suppose (it wasn't cold!).

Do you think this is fatigue? and if so should I cut length or speed? or will he just 'get used to it'? He has 2 other walks which are mostly off lead playing and it never happens then, even though he seems to use more energy?

Would be grateful for your opinions

Sally

Hi Sally
I do very little road walking with my dogs when they are pups, I dont stick to this urban myth, from 8 weeks mine get upto 45 mins off lead part running/playing part being carried am, then another 30mins at teatime and upto 45mins again in the eve. from 11 week i miss out teatime one x2 weekly and I walk them 1/2 mile go to dog club, then another 1/2 mile back - the club is 4.5 mile away the rst is completed by public transport, I then gradualy build up the distance they walk to/from club so by 10-11month they walk the 4.5mile one way, a few month later both ways but then no eve walk

im afraid im out the loop on this one give him a lil rest and see how he is in the morning, it sounds like our two are a similar age but skye would walk till she dropped if i let her she full of energy which i can never seem to drain and thats doing a morning walk of 45minutes and 15 minutes play and then then an hour and a half walk at night....
hope someone comes along to help you
