Teething Question

Hello from a warm and sunny Scotland

Just have a quick question about teething, the last couple of weeks Sam's poops have returned to nasty 'bum gravy'. His food has not changed and we are very strict with what he eats so zero chance that he got to something else...

What I wondered is, can teething cause this problem? (before i start looking at changing his diet again!) he has had a miserable few days and lost all his canines in the matter of a day lol poor boy I know children can suffer with diarrhea when teething so is it possible that this is the case with dogs?

Hubby thinks that if he has no canines he can't be called a dog and keeps saying "wheres my pussy cat" and of course Sam comes bounding over he's an evil man

Thanks

Sally & Sam

Jax had a similar thing, he went on chicken and rice for a day or so then went back onto his JWB, I didn't think it was teething related though just that he's a growing pup and they for no reason in particular they get runny bum..

Actually he's still teething. Last night he came and started sucking my thumb... I think it was an attempt at mouthing with his new stubby adult teeth...

Hi Busy Bee in Sunny Scotland,

My boy is teething at the moment, well has been for weeks and don't know if it is related or not but each time he has very loose poo, it co-insides with his new teeth coming through??!! I have kept him on the same diet and he returns to normal within 24 hours.

Hubby- bad boy!!!

Caryll is a jewel in the rough
I've found in the past that some dogs seem to get the runs when they're teething, and others don't!

If he's weel in himself, I wouldn't worry overmuch, just bland diet & nothing rich to eat for 24 hours. As long as the runs don't last more than 48 hours or so; if they do I'd pop him to the vets to make sure there's no underlying problem.
