Ear problem

Hi Lukey has a sore ear.

One of his ears is red and he is scratching. I can see it is quite waxy and I have put olive oil in and am cleaning it.

The wax is quite light in colour and no smell other than wax.

Any ideas please? Usually by cleaning excess wax it sorts it but it is lingering this time.

Thanks

If there's no odour that's good but I would keep bathing it and if it doesn't clear up take him to the vets, you don't want it to become infected...xx

Thanks Tracy and Lynn

I want to avoid putting anything in that might sting. I have bought something which smells a bit antisceptic and don't like it. They are sore where he has scratched and if anything stings that's me scuppered - I won't get near whereas he will just tolerate me cleaning them at the moment (doesn't really like it but trusts me).

As my husband isn't well I'm more or less on my own. I've been reading through old posts and I might try a weak salt solution with a piece of soft cotton. Usually if I get them clean they are OK.

I'll let you know how I get on. He's a good boy and will let me do most things - just as well I'm thinking.
