Thank you for all your input and help, I haven't found not one negative thing about feeding raw on the contrary the internet is flooded with posetive things about it .so I am going to stick the natures instinct raw because it is premade and in hamburger form ( I did read that having the bones and meat and such that way is easier to digest for the dogs with this problem than full carcasses) I will also continue with the kibble spaced out during the day to help him digest easier. I tryd it my vets way now I am going to try it the internet way.his poo was runny for one day since I started him on raw its back to being solid.my vet is older and I think you're right that they just didn't learn that.he is fine with the kibble tango is on and with the way I space out the food .what's the worse that can happen ? He looses weight ? Heck he's been doing that for the past few month anyways.thank you for all the advice. Tango been on taste of wild since october so I am going to continue with it . And once he's used to the raw I will rotate the raw. Its expensive to feed (84 $ a month plus 48$ kibble plus 24$ bones ) but if it works its worth it to me .thanks again

Please be careful. EPI means basically your dog cannot digest fat (this includes things like chicken skin). If you feed any form of fat your dog will get the runs. If you are feeding raw then you need to remove all forms of fat from the food. White fish can be OK (cod etc.), but be careful of oily fish like mackerel, salmon etc.

This site has some useful information:

Cheetah's Canine EPI Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency FAQs

My friend had a dog with this condition and all she could feed him on was chicken breast (no skin), white fish and rice/potato/pasta.

If you can get fresh pancreas to add to the feed that will help.

What is the fat content of Natures Instinct Raw?

Sue

The protein is 13% the fat is 6% the fiber is 2% moisture is 68% all the other flavors have between 2 and 3% more protein and fat.his taste of wild kibble that he gets 5 cups of in 1 cup every 2hours has 25% protein and 15% fat.so far he seems to do ok stoolwise ,most of the websites I visited say to feed a low fiber low fat diet and severall others say once his stools are stable to slowly introduce more fat not sure I am comfortable with that .I think I will continue with the raw and kibble and give him a chance to get used to it all and pray he will gain weight.thank you for the link will read up on it tomorrow my mind is overloaded from so much info the past few month. Thanks for all the help

Thought I give an update on tango .well he had been going up and down on his weight he would not go past 61 lbs even with having his food incubated with enzymes. I finally found a butcher who sells me all the fresh beef pancreas I need and I started tango on it 3 days ago and he weighed in today at 64.4'bs ! Finally a breakthrough! I have to add my vet stopped the b12 injections once a week he's only getting it once a month . However I am giving him b12 pills once a day 1000mcg and folate 800mcg. I also took him of taste of wild it caused him diarreha. He's on natrual instinct chicken raw twice a day and 2 cups of natrual balance alpha dog chicken . His stool has been perfect of course he kind of has loose stools since I started the beef pancreas and horrible room clearing gas but I hope its temporary since its something new for his body to adjust too .
