Unhappy Leo had a fit

My poor little pudding has just had a fit.

Its the first one he has had for probably about 2 years and thankfully it was only a little one. The bad ones paralyse him completely and he goes totally rigid but this one only paralysed his back end. Still hate to see him though.

He has come out of it now and had a drink of water and has settled down. He will probably sleep for the rest of the night now

Oh no - poor Leo. I hope he is okay. Do you know what caused it, or does he just get them out of the blue?

Poor Leo :-( and hugs for you! It's frightening seeing an animal having a fit or indeed a human knowing that asides from ensuring they can't hurt themselves there's not a lot you can do but be there next to them and talking to them.

I hope Leo (and you!) have a peaceful evening and he's bright as a button tomorrow!

Hi Tracy - so sorry to hear that. My Lukey started a few months ago but at the moment is stablished on meds.

After two years that must have been a shock.

Thinking about you.
Linda

He doesnt have them very often anyway used to be a couple of times a year so he hasnt had to have meds.

The vet suspects its from trauma rather than genetic.

Certain things can set him off like heat and cold but I dont know what set this off he was just lying on the rug next to me and them I hear his nails clicking on the floor where he is twitching.

It is horrible to watch but there is nothing I can do to speed it up or anything. I just have to sit with him and soothe him. He tries to get up if I dont.

I am sure he will be fine tomorrow.

Yes it is horrible. The period after the seizure is horrible for Lukey too.

Let's hope Leo goes a long time without another one.

Awwwww no

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it was just an isolated event and he carries on without having them very regularly.

Huggles to him!
